The first week of May is a week off in China, we have the opportunity to go a little trip to Tokyo Japan! Quite different
Shanghai must say! Back in the civilized world, finished the horns, the stink, garbage and dirt! The Japanese are super hospitable and courteous, and besides we were in a superb 4-star hotel.
Here are some highlights of our trip: First
shopping destination, district of Shinjuku! Sarah took the opportunity to make lots of clothes, especially the maternity floor of Benetton, while I have benefited me to store CDs and video games!
We went to the Sompo Japan Museum of Art, a museum dedicated to the art of painter Seiji Togo (very hot!), But mainly because he has been one of the famous Van Gogh's sunflowers. Always cool to see the paintings hyper-known "in person"! The museum was on the 42nd floor of this building.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, interesting for its free observatory that can see the whole city. 
Golden Gay, part of Shinjuku a lot of little houses strung and separated by tiny alleys. Filled with tiny bars (really tiny, often with only 5 or 6 places) and having a really special atmosphere.

The Japanese gardens are really beautiful. Here are some photos of one of those we visited. 
We attended a tea ceremony. The hostess made the tea and serves it to us. Easy to say, but the procedure is quite complicated and formal, and green tea has a taste and texture which was not used to (rather than creamy)!

One of the biggest Buddhist temple in the city 
The Akihabara district, seriously one of the coolest places on earth. Imagine a neighborhood with dozens of electronics stores, video games, anime and manga! Completely amazing!

last leg of our visit, we visited the Ghibli Museum, dedicated to animated films of Hayao Miyazaki! We were very lucky: the museum is accessible only by reservation, and it normally takes three months to book tickets in advance. Fortunately, the concierge at our hotel we managed to find! The tickets cost us 5 times more expensive, but we had a private guide to Japan that led us on site (it's far enough, a suburb of Tokyo) and we did the translation (the museum is only in Japanese). Me, Sarah and the belly avec un Totoro!

Et voilà, fini les vacances, c'est plutôt déprimant de revenir sur Shanghai après cette semaine, on se dit qu'on y retournera bientôt! :)
