Jing'an Temple

Jing'an Temple (literally, the temple of peace and tranquility ") is a Buddhist temple on Nanjing Lu, not too far from home.

Not too quiet in fact it is wedged between skyscrapers and shopping malls at the intersection of two major boulevards, and is currently under renovation. Not much atmosphere that is expected when entering a temple!

The temple dates from 247 AD, but is at its current location since 1216, is almost a hundred years before the official founding of the city of Shanghai in 1292.

The courtyard

kinds of incense sticks are available at the door. The faithful the lit, then collect facing alternately to the four cardinal points.

The goal here is to reach the upper section of this trick by throwing pieces of 1 yuan!

The largest sitting Buddha in the country is here! 3.8 meters ...

A wooden statue of a goddess. 6 meters, 5 tons!

The Dragon is everywhere in China ...

A view from the balcony on the second floor

A view from outside (and Sarah!)

And now, the next temple will visit the Temple of Jade Buddha ! We'll keep you posted!
